1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is the Alexanderplatz Merchants Association (in formation). Contact: contact@visitalex.de.

2. Data we process

When you visit this website, certain technical information is processed automatically (such as IP address, date and time of access, pages viewed, user agent). This is necessary to deliver the website and to ensure security.

When you sign up for our newsletter, we process your e-mail address and technical metadata (time of registration, IP address) in order to manage your subscription and document your consent.

3. Legal bases

The processing of technical usage data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and stable provision of the website). Newsletter data is processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

4. Hosting and content delivery

This website is delivered using services provided by Cloudflare (e.g. Cloudflare Pages, CDN). When you access the site, connection data (including IP addresses) is processed through Cloudflare's servers to deliver the content and provide security functions (such as DDoS protection).

5. Newsletter and forms (Spamblock)

We use the service Spamblock to process forms and newsletter signups. The data you enter (such as your e-mail address) and certain technical information are transmitted to Spamblock's servers and processed there as part of the service.

6. Use of OpenStreetMap

To display maps and to geolocate places around Alexanderplatz, we may embed content from OpenStreetMap. When such maps are loaded, connection data is transmitted to servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation. For more information, please see https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright.

7. Use of Google Maps / Google Places

For certain entries (e.g. member businesses) we may display map excerpts and ratings using Google Maps and Google Places via the Google Maps JavaScript API. When these components are loaded, connection data (including your IP address) is transmitted to Google Ireland Limited. 8. Storage period

Server log data is usually deleted automatically after a short retention period unless a longer storage period is required for security reasons. Newsletter data is stored until you unsubscribe. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

9. Your rights

Within the scope of applicable law, you have the right to request access to your personal data, as well as rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing. You also have the right to withdraw consent with effect for the future.
